E-Reader for the blind

LYT is a mobile application that enables blind or people with reading disabilities to browse and listen to books from NOTA's collection. NOTA is a national library for people who have trouble reading printed text in Denmark. LYT is Danish for 'Listen'. NOTA's in house developers had an idea laid out of how the application should work, they also had a working prototype, but it had a lot of issues. Together with Daniel Høyer I refactored the entire application using coffee script, Node, SASS, jQuery mobile, and other frameworks. Afterwards I worked with the in house developers training them in using the new frameworks and sticking with our best practices for future development . I also worked alongside the in-house designer optimising the graphic and interaction design of the application.

I played around with visualizing our development process of with Gource.

The video is a Gource Visualization of our software development process.

The visualisation is made with the following commands, plus a few effects in Final Cut.

gource -1280x720 -s 0.4 --highlight-users --title "LYT" --file-filter "/assets/|/images/" -o gource.ppm -e 0.2 -b "030323"

ffmpeg -y -r 60 -f image2pipe -vcodec ppm -i gource.ppm -vcodec libx264 -preset ultrafast -crf 1 -threads 0 -bf 0 gource.mp4
